Although the events listed below are not PTF sponsored they are supported and staffed by PTF members and families. These events are for the entire Preschool 4s year. Any Preschool 4s family is welcome and encouraged to get involved and participate. Thank you in advance for your help. You make a difference.
This is an engaging reading program designed to promote a love of literacy and encourage creative storytelling. Volunteers are invited to come read to the class and bring each child a tiny trinket to serve as a tangible reminder of the story. Volunteers may select the book or contact the teacher for suggestions. Tiny Treasures will begin the week after “One More Story.” Check out the Sign Up Genius and register today!
On October 31, Preschool will enjoy a daylong exploration of pumpkins and the color orange. Each child will bring in his or her own pumpkin (big or small). Visit SignUpGenius to volunteer to provide special snacks or supplies for this event.
Field Trip to Elm Fork Nature Preserve
Preschool students will explore the wilds of this park. This is also our first opportunity to ride the school bus and that in its self is a BIG deal! Scavenger hunts in nature are our favorite! Join us (no siblings please) as we walk through nature followed by a picnic lunch at the park. This event takes place in November look at the class calendar or on the SignUp Genius for the specific date.
The story of Stone Soup is about sharing. Each child contributes a vegetable and helps with cutting and cooking the soup to share. Grandparents and Special Friends Day
This is a very special time at POPCS! Grandparents and special friends are invited to come to the school and see just what POPCS is all about! Be sure and return the form with your child’s grandparent and/or special friend’s information to the school. They will then receive an invitation to join us. If they are unable to come, they are invited to send children a special greeting in the mail. Remember, this day is not just about grandparents but special friends, too. Christmas Breakfast and Christmas Showcase
Join us for our Christmas Breakfast in the classrooms at 8:15, followed by a Christmas program in the Fine Arts Center at 9:15. This event takes place on December 15th. Visit SignUpGenius to volunteer to provide special snacks and supplies for the celebrations.
Make Believe Madness Day
Calling all fairies, princesses, super heroes, pirates, and more! Bring your imagination to school and enjoy make believe adventures, creative building, imaginary creatures and more. Students will spend the day celebrating learning through imagination. So dust off your fairy wings and iron your cape! With a pinch of pixie dust and a treasure map in our pockets, we will set off on a magical adventure filled with learning, pretending, and laughter! Join us Parade starts at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Special Chapel. We celebrate moving and grooving in our P.E. program on this morning. Come watch our Preschool and K-Prep students as they demonstrate crossing the mid-line, brain synapses firing and all sorts of amazing feats in this crazy, serpentine course! Butterfly Parade and Chapel
Butterflies are symbols of new life and resurrection. In celebration of Easter and the resurrection of Christ, Preschool 3s-KPrep students will participate in a special Easter butterfly parade on March 28. Families are invited to line up outside the Fine Arts Center to watch the parade at 8:30 a.m and then follow the parade into the auditorium for our Easter chapel. Preschool 3s-KPrep will host an Alphabet Celebration on Wednesday, April 11! From singing songs and reading books to hands-on explorations and games, this special day will celebrate the letters and sounds of the alphabet. School Family Party
