Junior Directs – POSTPONED until Thursday, Feb 22 due to illness
Join us for an evening of entertainment as our Theatre Junior students take the lead, by choosing and directing a one act play. This year’s performances will be on February 15, 2018 at 6:30pm in the Fine Arts Auditorium. $5 Admission, faculty and staff are free. Suggested for ages 12 and up.
The Yellow Boat (Drama) – It reveals the ‘true’ story of a young boy being struck down by the HIV virus accidentally transmitted by a Factor 8 transfusion for hemophilia. It dwells on the tragic impact on the family caused by the imminent death of a child.
The Death of a Gerbil (Comedy) – Meet Darren. He is an ordinary fellow, with an ordinary job, in an ordinary office, in an ordinary building. He is also dead. He does not know that he is dead……yet. Or that Heaven has lost his paperwork. Or why he got hit by a Double Decker bus. He is about to find out that once you’re dead, things can only go down from there….
Proof (Drama) – The daughter of a brilliant but mentally disturbed mathematician tries to come to grips with her possible inheritance: his insanity. Complicating matters are one of her father’s ex-students who wants to search through his papers and her estranged sister who shows up to help settle his affairs.
Everyone Gets Abducted by Aliens (Comedy) – The universe is full of questions: Is there life on other planets? Should you be petrified for your Earthly existence? Does everyone get abducted by aliens? This play is full of answers: yes, yes, and that’s the title of the show! Join Conspiracy Dan on a cautionary tour through alien-infested scenarios to avoid, such as going towards the light, voting for an alien political candidate, and buying gluten-free ice cream from extraterrestrials. An off-the-wall comedy that’s sure to steal your heart . . . and then steal the rest of you away from Planet Earth.
Information about volunteering and ticket sales will be posted closer to the date of the event, so please check back often.
