POSSE is made up of a Board and parent coordinators at each grade level.
The POSSE Board meets approximately six times per school year for discussion of schedules and events, and for the purpose of troubleshooting and brainstorming.
The 2017-2018 meeting dates:
October 10 (canceled)
December 12 (canceled)
February 13 (canceled)
March 7 – (Wednesday, the week before spring break)
Each class has parent Coordinators who work with Class Advisors to facilitate the tasks at hand. Coordinators are not elected and volunteers are welcome to serve at any class level. They need only to make a commitment of willingness to be actively involved. Their purpose is to be leaders for students and parents in the class, to be aware of class functions and expectations and to help recruit the entire class to be involved when needed for class endeavors.
EXTRA PARENTS in addition to Coordinators are always needed for each class’ main fundraiser and other events. Within each class there is a designated “Point Person” who should be the lead coordinator for communication, but whose work load should be shared equally among the coordinators in the class. In most cases each school year, the Coordinators move up a grade level as their students advance through high school, but parents can serve at any level.
All High School parents are considered POSSE PARENT VOLUNTEERS!
