The past four years “Adopt-a-Teacher/Staff Member” has been a great success! The teachers and staff members absolutely love being showered with extra care and love each month, as well as on their birthdays. We are excited to provide the opportunity for families to be a part of this program again this year! Anonymous online signup is available for this event click here.

Class Trip Chaperones
In May each grade level goes on an overnight trip. Sixth graders have a trip to Pine Cove. The seventh graders take a two night trip to Austin and San Antonio, while the eighth graders head to Corpus Christi for three days and two nights. If there are not enough staff members to chaperone we do ask for parent help. As we get closer to the trip, Michele Roberts will send out an email to all parents if chaperones are needed.
Middle school students will have their annual dessert bar on Wednesday, September 27 during lunch. Please click here (coming soon) to volunteer to serve, bring a dessert or both. As always, thank you in advance for your generosity. Please read the Sign Up carefully. Due to some severe allergies in the middle school, we can not open any package with nuts of any kind.
Twice a year PTF sponsors a fall and spring social for middle school. This event is open to all POPCS middle school students. This years fall social will be held on November 10 and the spring social will be on April 20. Tickets sales occur a week before the event and can be purchased during the school day from Michele Roberts.
The fall social is broken up into two separate socials. The sixth graders have their own social right after school, while the seventh and eighth graders have theirs on the same day just later in the evening. The spring social is a combination of sixth through eighth grade and held on the same night as the MS lock in. Students who are participating in the lock in bring their sleeping bags, etc to the social and get picked up by the teachers at the end of the evening.

Seven Loaves Food Pantry
Every Thursday during chapel one 3rd period class and their teacher get on the POPCS school bus and go to Seven Loaves Food Pantry at St. Andrew United Methodist church, just on the other side of the tollway. We rearrange their fellowship hall to be the Food Pantry, put the food out like a grocery store, bag up produce if there is any, and unload boxes if needed. In 30 minutes we do what it would take the usual volunteers several hours to do. We have been serving at Seven Loaves Food Pantry for several years. Seven Loaves is currently serving over 550 families from right here in the Collin County area. Last year they gave away over 800,000 pounds of food! They have other services that they provide as well, if you’d like more information about them you can go to www.7loavescommunity.org. We are so blessed to have this service opportunity and we appreciate your support. Please let me know if you have any questions. Lisa.Chase@popcs.org
